The answer first
A phone that supports CarPlay or Android Auto is not enough. The verified Honda route runs through eligible HondaLink vehicles and accounts.

Honda: verify before starting a trial
Add or scan the VIN in HondaLink and inspect Manage Features. The myQ Connected Garage option is the eligibility checkpoint. If it is absent, do not assume that reinstalling myQ will create it. Consult the vehicle’s compatibility information.
If eligible
Select myQ Connected Garage in HondaLink, follow the account-linking prompts, then connect the phone to the vehicle as instructed. The documented flow uses a USB cable; the garage appears in HondaLink’s myQ area through CarPlay or Android Auto. Review trial terms before activation.
If you drive another make
The official index includes additional vehicle brands, but brand listing is not VIN approval. Check the model year, country, infotainment software, account entitlement and current linking page together. Keep setup parked; do not troubleshoot a missing tile while driving.
If the trial is ending
Find the actual billing provider rather than canceling the phone app. Current myQ guidance sends most automotive subscriptions to the vehicle provider; Tesla and Hyundai subscriptions are handled through myQ Marketplace.
Questions before you continue
Common questions
Can I install a universal myQ CarPlay app in any car?
A universal route is not established by phone compatibility alone. Start with the vehicle-specific service.
Does Community Android Device Controls mean Android Auto?
No. A phone control panel and an in-car platform are different interfaces.
