myQ Reset Options: Wi-Fi, Factory or Access Memory?
Choose a reset by what failed. A new Wi-Fi password, a forgotten account password, another owner’s device and a lost remote are different problems. A factory reset should not be the first response to an ordinary offline door.

Network changed
Use the device’s Wi-Fi reconnect procedure. It does not remove prior account ownership.
Account sign-in failed
Recover the existing login or verification method. Resetting garage hardware does not recover a password.
Ownership or Error 310
For an authorized transfer, previous-owner removal is fastest when available. Otherwise use the exact device’s factory-reset instructions.
Keypad, remote or HomeLink
PINs and radio memory have their own model-specific procedures; an app reinstall or Wi-Fi change does not revoke radio access.

Choose the recovery path
Name the problem
Identify whether you need network reconnection, sign-in recovery, ownership transfer or radio-access changes. Keep another authorized way into the property.
Expected resultYou know which settings actually need changing.
Identify the hardware
Read the exact model of the opener or separate hub. Do not use a hub’s Settings-button sequence on a built-in Wi-Fi opener.
Expected resultYou can select the matching official instructions.
Review what will be erased
A full Wi-Fi-opener factory reset erases remotes, keypads, HomeLink and myQ accessories and requires setup again. A separate hub has a different reset procedure.
Expected resultYou have authority and an access/reprogramming plan before proceeding.
Follow the matching recovery route
Use the network or account guide for those failures. For a justified ownership reset, open the official device selector below and match its completion signals.
Expected resultThe intended settings change; ownership transfer is complete when the device adds without the prior-account error.
If something does not match
Still Error 310 after a reset
Confirm it was a full factory reset, not only a Wi-Fi reset. If the exact procedure completed but the error remains, use official support with your model and serial number privately.
The device belongs to another person
Ask the authorized owner or property manager. Do not reset shared or rented equipment without authority.
Common questions
Can a factory reset remove the previous account?
Yes. Current manufacturer guidance says the correct device-specific factory reset removes the prior ownership association. A Wi-Fi-only reset does not.
Should I factory reset after replacing the router?
No. Use the existing device’s Wi-Fi reconnection path; preserve the account and unrelated access settings.
Is there one LEARN-button hold for every device?
No. The device families and consequences differ. Use the exact official model-specific instructions rather than a universal button duration.
